Turn your dramas into Nirvanas
I've had a weird Nirvana filled day, maybe I should start out by saying I never got bit by the Nirvana bug. Actually the first I remember of them was my family discussing Kurts death at Easter Dinner, I guess I was 8 in April of 94 and was way more worried about Reese eggs and Sweet Tart ducks and bunnies to grasp a national grunge icon had passed. Fast forward to today at Rain Damage, we received a shipment of Nirvana decks that Spike Jonze had released for the brand Girl late last night so I was pretty excited to put them out this morning. My sister walks in randomly to drop me off a coffee, she is a huge nirvana fan and I even snaked a photo from her Instagram of her dressed as Zombie Cobain for Halloween to prove her allegiance and we spoke briefly about the decks. So that's 2 random Kurt Cobain instances before noon today. Then around one I see on Facebook that today is the day that Kurt died in 1994, which started to get weird. Fast forward a few hours, my homie DJ Always text me and is like "hey man you mind if I come spin some old Pharrell jams at the shop this evening, it's his birthday". I was more than happy to have him here and when he came on he came packing a coffee table book by Pharrell and handed it to me, the first page I open has Kurt Cobain on it. Now I don't know what all this means, guessing nothing, but I thought it was a worth while story. Shout out to Kurt Cobain and Kirko Bangz. And shout out DJ Always, one of the good guys with unreal talent.
